Shaped by the philosophy of Wabi-Sabi, this project is inspired by beauty in imperfection and allows nature to exist on its own terms.

Here, the rigid structure of a formal garden softens into something more organic. Defined lines dissolve into sweeping mass plantings, and subtle level changes that embrace the property’s natural elevation and wetland backdrop. Exposed aggregate, gravel, and shoreline stones sourced from Lake Erie blend with Juniper and Creeping Thyme, creating a timeless and weathered look. Custom metal edging, welded on-site, is left to patina naturally - evolving with the environment and deepening its character over time.

At the heart of the garden, repurposed Redwood benches encircle a sunken fire table, anchored by two square ponds. The first invites interaction, with stepping stones that let you quite literally walk across the water, accompanied by the gentle rhythm of terraced waterfalls below. The second offers contrast, with crisp geometry softened by a cylindrical centerpiece and framed by 200 Echinacea Coneflowers, delivering a vibrant burst of color.

A winding stone and gravel path leads deeper into the space, where Hameln grasses sway effortlessly in the breeze - bringing balance and movement to this thoughtfully composed retreat.
